Killyleagh Community Association
Killyleagh Social Partnership
The Killyleagh Social Partnership was officially launched on Monday 29th November 2004. Its purpose was to form an organisation that specifically covered Social Events within the town and area. At the time the town had two specific organisations those being:
- The Killyleagh Development Association - Who's role was to deal with economical issues and development of the town.
- The Killyleagh Community Association - Who's role was to deal with the people and town in general.
The Killyleagh Social Partnership's was thus formed to cover the gap that was missing in the town, with its charter being to Promote Projects that would provide social and economical benefits for the community. With that in mind the members felt that they should draw members from a wider area other than the town itself, and that membership would be by selection rather than election. The number of members should be around 10 - 12, this would provide sufficient membership to allow sub committees to arrange specific events, rather than have a smaller number that would require all members to be involved at the event. Thus allowing for more than one project to be going on at any one time.
The Officers of the partnership (last election January 2007) are:
- Chairman - Tony Davies
- Vice-Chairman - Martin Rice
- Secretary - John Huddleston
- Treasurer - Elaine Upton
