The environmental slot on the Killyleagh web site promotes environmental awareness on both a local and global level.

We would like to help make Killyleagh as attractive an environment as possible. This could involve issues such as public transport, road safety, planning and sewage.

We believe that reduction and management of the waste that Killyleagh produces is crucial, in light of European directives which we must all eventually heed or else be fined.

We aim to highlight and encourage local producers of good healthy foodstuffs as well as those who live locally and create interesting products from local materials.

In light of the needs of the modern shopper, we would like to research what local shops are doing to offer the environmentally friendly and fairly traded products that may be on sale in larger retail outlets elsewhere.

We would also wish to celebrate the amazing diversity of the natural hinterland of Killyleagh

Finally we would like to offer an opportunity for Killyleagh people to express their views on all kinds of environmental issues about which they feel important.
