Viking festival is returning

The exciting and popular Viking Boat Festival is returning to Killyleagh.

The festival, organised by the Magnus Viking Association and the Killyleagh Viking Association and the Killyleagh Social Partnership, it will be held between May 27 - 29.

In expanding the previous format, the Magnus Viking Village sill stay at Delamont Country Park for the entire week and will provide displays and events for local schools.  The festival will open officially in Downpatrick and the closing ceremony will be in Killyleagh this year.

Given the festival's popularity, there may be as many as 25 teams involved, including an already pledged team of 40 from Norway and a potential group from the USA.
