Friday Folk Night and Barbeque

Most of the team having set off at dawn to catch ferries and planes over to Belfast were beginning to wilt by the time we got on the minibus to take us to the venue for the first evenings entertainment of the festival weekend.

However a couple of Gin and Tonics and a some great food later we were all re-charged and raring to go.

When the world famous Blarney Boys started to perform the atmosphere was great and it was inevitable that we were soon up to dance even though there was no recognisable dance floor in the packed room. It didn't matter as space was some how found between the chairs and tables in front to of the band to dance and even swing. However, at least one of our team ended up joining the band and I twisted my ankle when I lost the race for a square inch of space to put my foot down.

The Bareleg Beer was flowing and there were people leaning in the windows to watch the ensuing scrum as there was no room left and the temperature had toped 100 degrees.

All to soon it was time to board our bus again and head home after a great night that got the festival off to a flying start.
